ALIMENTARIA brokerage event 2010

ALIMENTARIA, the second biggest food show in the world, will be held in Barcelona from the 22nd to the 26th of March 2010. For 18 Editions, ALIMENTARIA fair presents the latest products from the international food and beverage industry, distribution channels and consumer tastes. The exhibition space will be divided into sectors: 13 shows organized by product family. In addition, Alimentaria will once again offer an extensive program of R D i-related activities. 85% of the Spanish food and beverage industry is expected to attend the event, with more than 95,000 m2 dedicated to exhibition space and associated activities.

At the last edition, in 2008, Alimentaria received more than 150000 professional visitors with representative from 70 countries and more than 5000 direct exhibitors.

The  international brokerage event will include free bilateral meetings on Tuesday the 23rd and Wednesday the 24th of March 2010 held in parallel to the main fair, with the aim of helping the European companies to search commercial, technological and FP7 partners.

Further more we offer you free entrance to our conference “Overview of KBBE work programme and future calls” hosted by an EC representative from DG Research on the 23rd March at 10’00-12'00 hrs. The EC representative will have individual meetings, under request, with participants with a project idea. After the conference, companies will be allowed to present and promote their company profiles to the audience in order to find future partners for FP7-KBBE projects.

This conference and the brokerage is organised by the EEN Catalonia-ACC1Ó which belongs to the world biggest public network of innovation and competitiveness promotion entities (Enterprise Europe Network), giving the organisations the opportunity of concerting bilateral meetings with potential partners.

The mission of the EENs is to support innovation and transnational technological co-operation in Europe with a range of specialised business support services. With almost 600 partners organisations involved, we ensure a wide geographic coverage, more than 40 countries, targeted at technology-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), large companies, research institutes, universities, technology centres and innovation agencies. Over the past five years, the old network IRC assisted over 12,500 technology transfer negotiations and helped more than 55,000 client companies to meet their technology needs and to exploit their research results.

The purpose of the brokerage event is to enhance opportunities for companies to explore and find food technology cooperation. A large diversion of prospects is available as all sort of collaboration sought is offered; (Research & Development, Technical Co-operation, Joint Venture Agreement, Manufacturing Agreement, Licence Agreement, Commercial Agreement, FP7-KBBE Project). In order to achieve this goal, we collect descriptions of technologies obtained or sought by innovative European companies in the food industry sector, we check that the information is relevant and clearly explained, validate and  compile them into an on-line catalogue for participants to browse through.

The Alimentaria Brokerage Event 2010 is the ideal environment for:

- small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), offering and/or looking for new technologies
- scientists/research institutes offering innovative RTD results
- start-up companies and entrepreneurs

The forum will bring together suppliers and users of food technology and know-how from all over Europe to discuss solutions and new opportunities for the future.
